After four years as a Charity First scholar, I was fast approaching graduation in March of 2005 with a degree in Biology (for Teachers). One by one, I watched as my fellow scholars got job offers and loathed that I had not their luck in finding employment. It was already November, and I still had not been successful at securing my future. Eventually I was offered employment in a vitamin supplement company, but in two months it had closed down.
Thankfully, I received an offer from Unilab soon after the previous company closed down, and underwent their rigorous training for two months. Of the 40 applicants, only 12 of us completed our training with a minimum grade of 85%. I have now been assigned to Tacloban as a Medical Sales Representative; though I can count my employment at Unilab as one of my most treasured blessings, I cannot forget the people who have made it possible for me to be where I am as well as who I am.
